It was a sad news today when a taxi man was beaten by security operatives and he slumped and died instantly. The man lying on the floor is a taxi driver beaten to death because his passengers were not wearing a facemask.
Recall that the government mandated the masses not to go out of their respective houses without a face mask and a hand groves due to the pandemic ravaging the world but most people defiled the order and are going about their daily activities unconcerned.
In a bid to enforce it, security operatives were seen at every strategic junction in Calabar. When the security operatives stopped the taxi and enquired why the passengers are not using facemask, a heated argument started and one thing led to the other and they started beating him which led to him slumping and dieing at the spot.
