10 prominent Nigerian women who killed their husbands

The death sentence handed down on Maryam Sanda by an Abuja court for killing her husband, Bilyaminu Bello, seemed to have woken up a lot of Nigerians to the fact that in the past few years, there have been other prominent women who have murdered their husbands.

Some of these women have been convicted and given the death sentences but none has raised as much dust as the Maryam Sanda case, probably because of the high profile nature of the victim and the convict.
